Manumission Jesse from Daniel Lamden 1800

Whereas I Daniel Lamden of Little Creek Neck, and Hundred, in the County of Kent in the State of Delaware hath this day, to wit this twenty fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred, purchased of a certain Ebenezer Wilson of Murtherkill Hundred, in Kent County afsd. A Certain Negro man named Jesse aged Twenty nine years or thereabouts, for the Sum of Forty Pounds to the said Ebenezer Wilson in hand paid To have and to hold the said Negroe man Jesse to me the said Daniel Lamden my Heirs executors Administrators or Assigns, as by a bill of sale duly executed under the hand and Seal of the said Ebenezer Wilson on the day afsd. On reference to the same being had may at large appear, Now Know all men by these presents that I the said Daniel Lamden for divers good causes and Considerations do manumit liberate and set free, and at full Liberty the said a Negroe Man Jesse, from and immediately after the Twenty fourth day of February which shall be in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight Hundred, and four, provided and upon this Express Condition, and none other, that the said Negro Man Jesse Shall well and faithfully, and in an Honest obedient manner well and truly serve me in all lawful business that he shall be put unto by my order or Command, or by the Order and Command of me my Heirs executors Administrators or Assigns during the Term afsd. (it being four years from this day) And furthermore it is the true intent and meaning of me the said Daniel Lamden my Heirs Exers. Adms. or assigns that if the said Negro man Jesse shall well and faithfully serve me my Heirs Exers. Admrs. Or Assigns for and during the full End & Term of Four years (to Commence this day) in manner afsd. that at the Expiration of said Term, or on the Twenty fourth day of February Eighteen Hundred, and four, he the said negro man Jesse shall be free and forever liberated from me my Heirs exers. Admrs. And Assigns, and shall enjoy the same Rights, and previleges, as others of his Color are  intitled to by the Laws of this State, or any of the United States ^of America Witness my Hand seal the said 24th day of February Anno domini 1800. Be it remembered that on the 24th day of February Anno dom: 1800 Personally appeared Daniel Lamden within named before me John Lowber Esq. one of the Justices assigned to Keep the Peace for Kent County afsd. and acknowledged the within instrument of writing as his act, and deed according to the purport & effect true intent & meaning of the same and desired the same to be Recorded as such.
