Be it Known and remembered that I Benoni Harris of Kent County and State of Delaware do hereby Manumit and Set free a certain Negro man named James Johnson from and after the Expiration of Seven years from the Date hereof to Enjoy all the priviledges of a free Negro in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of September Eighteen hundred and two 1802 Benoni Harris {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Sst. } I do certify that Benoni Harris appeared before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Said County & acknowledged the above manumission as his Act and Deed for the purposes therein mentioned, Given under my hand the first day of September one thousand Eight hundred and two. 1802.
