Manumission Harry from Samuel Barratt 1801

To all whom these present come Greeting:

I Samuel Barratt of the County of Kent and State of Delaware do this day manumit and set Free a Certain Negro Boy Named Harry from and after He shall arrive at the age of Twenty five years. He being thirteen years old the tenth day of may next being now the Property of Thomas Green of the same place by a sufficient Bill of Sale of this Date, and I do hereby Warrant and defend the freedom of the said Negro Harry from all person or persons Claiming or to Claim, by, through, and under me As Witness my hand and Seal this twenty second day of January Eighteen Hundred and one 1801. Kent County State of Delaware } Sst Be it remembered that on the twenty second of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one came before me Andw. Barratt one of the Judges of the court of common pleas of the State of Delaware afsd the within named Samuel Barratt and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the within written Manumission as his Act and deed and desired that the same may be recorded as such In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand the day and year above written.
