Know all men by these presents that I William Hughlett of Kent County in the State of Delaware for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds secured to be paid to me by John Kilpartrick of Kent County and State of Delaware I do hereby manumite, mansipate, Liberate and set free a certain Slave negro woman named Eliza, aged about Twenty four Years, the proper Slave of me the said William Hughlett provided Nevertheless that I the said William Hughlett do hereby Reserve to John Kilpar trick, his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns, the service and Labour of the said Negro woman Eliza, for and During the Terme of Ten Years; from the date hereof And I do hereby Declare that after her service of Ten years as aforesaid, she is to all Intents and purposes a free woman.
