Manumission Negro Weany Howard from Smith Farset

Know all men by these presents, that I Smith Farset of Little Creek Hundred Kent County and State of Delaware, for divers good causes and considerations, do by these presents, manumit, liberate and set free my black woman called Weani Howard, which I purchased of Polly Bowman, after the expiration of seven years from the tenth day of March last past, and also her two children Ledia and Jane Howard, Ledia to serve twenty two years from the third day of July last, and Jane to serve twenty one years from the sixteenth day of June last past, & I do hereby further agree that the said  Weani Howard from the expiration of the said seven years, and the said Ledia Howard from the expiration of the said twenty two years and the said Jane Howard from the expiration of the said twenty one years, shall be entitled to and enjoy all the rights, previleges and immunities which a free Negro or Mulatto may or can have or enjoy by the Laws of this State. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. Smith Farset {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Ss. } Be it remembered that on the Fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and ten personally appeared Smith Farset before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace for Kent County in the State of Delaware, and acknowledged the within manumition to be his act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned. Given from under my hand and seal at Dover the day and year aforesaid. John Lowber
