Manumission Negro Stephen rom Helliry Coudright
Know all men by these presents that I Heley Coudwright of Little Creek Hundred Kent County and State of Delaware Do hereby manumate and set free my negro boy cald Stephen my slave, to be free at the age of twenty seven years who was ten years old on the twenty forth day of September lastpast and he has to serve sixteen years six months and twenty seven days from the date hereof and at the end and expiration of the said Term I do hereby declare him the said Stephen to be free and entitled to all the rights and privileges of a free negrow or mulatto are intiled toe in this state and I do hereby declare him the said Stephen at the end of said Term to be free from my self my heirs executors and administrators and every person or persons whatsoever claiming or toe clame from by or under one or them In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hands and seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen. 1813, Hilrey Coudwright his mark {seal}

Kent County SS State of Delaware } February 25th 1813 personally appeared Hillery Coudright before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County and acknowledged the above manumission to be his act and deed and the aforesaid Negro Stephen to be free and at his own liberty at the expirasion of the term aforesaid as witness my hand and seal this 26th February 1813.
