Manumission Negroes Sine Dim & Esther From Joshua Temple

Know all men by these presents that I Joshua Temple of Queen Anns County in the State of Maryland do think it wrong and oppressive to hold Negroes in in abject Slavery have and by these presents do manumate and set free my Negro woman Sine from the day of the date here of. And also a Negro girl called Dim when she shall arrive to the age of twenty one years she being twelve years six months and twenty seven days old. Also a Negro girl called Esther when she shall arrive to the age of twenty one years she being Eight years six months and twenty seven days old All of which the aforesaid Negroes their freedom I do hereby warrant from any person or persons claiming by through or under me my heirs executors or administrators and will forever defend by these presents as witness my hand and seal the twenty fifth day of May in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and four 1804.Joshua Temple {seal}

Signed Sealed and delivered In Presence of Benj. Brady, Mary Day.

State of Delaware Kent County Ss. } I do hereby certify that on the twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four that Joshua Temple party to the within manumission did in my presence and before me Benjamin Brady one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county sign his name to the within and foregoing Manumission and acknowledge the same as his act and deed and delivered the same for the for the purposes therein Mentioned. Given under my hand and seal the day and year above Written.   Benj. Brady
