Manumission Charles Kimmey to Negro Saul

Know all men by these presents that I Charles Kimmey of Kent County in the State of Delaware do by these presents manimit emancipate and set free a certain slave negro boy named Saul after the said Saul shall arrive to the age of twenty one years he the said Saul being now nine years old the twenty fifth day of October last past – reserving to myself my heirs executors administrators & assigns the service and labor of the said negro until he shall arrive to the said age of twenty one years afsd. and after that time I hereby declare the said negro Saul to be a free man to all intents and purposes. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty-ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen – Charles Kimmey {seal}

Kent County SS  I hereby certify that the above named Charles Kimmey personally appeared before Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for said County and did acknowledge the above manumission to be his act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned – In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty-ninth day of March Anno Dom. 1813.
