Manumission Negroes Leah & Harry from S. White

Know all Men by these presents that I Samuel White of Kent county in the State of Delaware doth hereby manumitt, Emancipate, liberate and set free a certain Negro Woman named Leah the slave of me the said Samuel White, in Nine years from the date hereof, reserving to myself my heirs executors and administrators & assigns the Service and Labour of the said Leah until the expiration of nine years from the date of these presents, and I also hereby manumitt & set free Negro Harry the child of the said Leah when he the said Harry shall drive to the age of twenty one years, he the said Harry being now four months old reserving to myself & heirs and assigns the service & labor of the said Harry until he shall arive to the age of twenty one years In Witness whereof I the said Samuel White doth hereby set my hand & affix my seal the twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & four. Sealed & delivered In presence of Nathl. Smithers. John Dill.

State of Delaware Kent County } I hereby Certify that Samuel White personally appeared before me Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace for said County, and did legally execute & acknowledge the above Manumission as his act & deed for the uses & purposes therein mentioned according to the purport & affect thereof In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & affixed my seal The twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and four.
