Manumission Negroes Jeffry & others From Henry Molleston
Know all Men by these presents that, Henry Molleston of Murtherkill hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations do by these presents Manumit liberate and set free the following discribed Negros, And in the following manner, that is to say, (which said Negros I bought as State Treasurer at Sheriffs sale as the property of Edward Poalk on the twenty fifth day of February last past) Negro Jeffry aged about fifty years to be free in five years, and six months, Newtown aged about forty years to be free in seven years, Negro Henry aged about twenty eight years, to be free in Eight years, Negro Leah aged thirty three years, to be free in Eight years, her child Cloea aged five years to be free in twenty three years, her child Vine, aged four months to be free in twenty seven years and eight months, and I do hereby further agree that, the said Negro Jefferey at the expiration of five years and six months from The said twenty fifth day of February and the said Negro Newtown at the expiration of Seven years from said day and Negro Henry at the expiration of Eight years from said day and Negro Leah at the expiration of eight years from said day and her daughter Cloe, at the expiration of twenty three years from said day and her daughter Vine, at the expiration of twenty seven years and eight months from said day shall be entitled to and enjoy all the rights privileges and immunities which a free Negro or Mullato may enjoy by the laws of this State. State of Delaware Kent County Ss. } I do hereby certify that Henry Molleston Esquire Treasurer of the State of Delaware personally appeared before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace for said County, and acknowledged the foregoing Manumition to be his act and deed for the use and purpose therein meantioned Given under my hand and Seal at Dover the eleventh day of March 1808.
