Manumission Esther, Elijah, and Peter from Henry Porter 1805

Be it Remembered, that I Henry Porter of Kent County, State of Delaware, For divers good causes and considerations me thereto moving. Have this first day of January eighteen hundred and five manumitted, liberated and set absolutely free the three following named negroes or black people, on the following conditions. viz, negro woman Esther, from the day of the date hereof, negro man Elijah to be free on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and seven, & negro boy Peter to be free seven years from this date. And further I do hereby Warrant an defend the afsd Esther, Elijah & Peter, in the full and free enjoyment of their liberty afsd from me, my heirs executors or administrators, from the different times, at which they respectively are intitled to it afsd. hereby declaring that, I have full power as their proper owner & master to manumit, liberate and set them absolutely free as afsd. State of Delaware Kent County Sst. March 9 1805. } I do hereby Certify that Henry Porter appeared before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace for said County, and acknowledged the above manumission to be his act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. John Lowber
