Manumission Negro Rose From Nancy Hilford
Know all men by these presents that I Nancy Hilford of Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations do hereby manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain negro woman named Rose aged about one and twenty years, to be free and at her own disposal at the full end and term of six years from the date hereof, Conditioned she should have no child or children within the said term But if she should have, then the said Negro Rose is to serve six months for every child she may have within the said time in addition to the aforesaid term of six years._ I the affsd, Nancy Hilford do hereby duly acknowledge the above negro Rose to be fully discharged from me my heirs executors administrators and every of them at the expiration of the above term, and I the affsd. Nancy Hilford do hereby warrant an defend the liberty & freedom of the affsd. Negro Woman Rose from the lawful claim of me my heirs executors or Administrators & every other person or persons claiming by from or Under me In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand And affixed my seal this sixteenth day of May A.
