Manumission Negro Robert from Rebecca Hanson
I Rebecca Hanson of Kent County State of Delaware do hereby manumit and set absolutely free a certain cullard man called Robert so that he shall be deemed adjuded and taken as and for free without let hinderanice or molestation of me my heirs executors administrators or any other person or persons whatsoever but that he shall be at his own disposal to act for himself to all Intent and purposes as a free man In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this twenty second of august one thousand eight hundred and fourteen. Kent County SS. Be it remembered that on the twenty Second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen the within named Rebecca Hanson appeared before me James Schee one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for Kent County and did acknowledge the within manumission as her act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
