Manumission Negro Robert From Edward Stapleford Junr.
Know all men by these presents that I Edward Stapleford Jr. of the Village of Milford, Kent County & State of Delaware, for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving, Do hereby manumit, Enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain Negro man named Robert, (calls himself Robert Haslett) aged about twenty eight years whom I bought of my father Edward Stapleford Senr of Sussex County and State afsd. and was by him raised, to be free and at his full and perfect liberty from and after the day of the date hereof And I do hereby declare and acknowledge the above named Negro Man Robert, to be fully discharged from me my heirs Executors and administrators & every of them. And I the afsd. Edward Stapleford Jr. do hereby warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of the afsd. Negro Man, from the lawful claim of me my heirs executors and administrators, and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under me. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of December, Anno Domini One thousand Eight hundred & seven. 1807. Edward Stapleford Sadler {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County } Personally appeared before me James Millechop one of the Justices of the peace in & for the said county Edward Stapleford Jr and acknowledged the within Manumission of Negro Robert to be his act and deed in due form of law this 25th. December 1807. Jas. Millechop
