Manumission Negro Rachel from Thomas Bradford, Junr.

Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Bradford Junior of the City of Philadelphia State of Pennsylvania from motives of benevolence and humanity have manumitted and hereby do manumit and set free from slavery my negro Girl Rachel Aged about twenty two years, on Condition however that she do forthwith bind herself by Indenture to serve my executors, administrators or assigns until she shall attain the age of twenty eight years. and I do hereby give grant and release unto the said Rachel all my right, title and claim of, in and to her person, labour and service and of, in and to the Estate and property which she may hereafter acquire or obtain, excepting only her service in manner and during the Term above mentioned. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hands and seal this ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & five. Thomas Bradford Junr {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Sst. } I do certify that on the Eleventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and  six came Thomas Bradford Esqr. before me John Lowber one of this Justice of the Peace for said County, and acknowledged the above manumition to be his act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned, Given under my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
