Negro Pompey Manumission from Samuel Warren Senr. Esqr.

Know all men by these presents That I Samuel Warren Senior of Kent County and State of Delaware did in January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighteen set at liberty my negro Boy named Pompey then my Slave who was born the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty Seven and that I do by these presents absolutely manumit and enfranchise him the Said Negro Pompey and grant to him full freedom witness my hand and Seal the nineteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty two. State of Delaware Be it remembered that Samuel Warren Senr. Personally appeared before me Jacob Furbee one of the justices of the peace for the County of Kent and State aforesaid this 19 day of January 1822 and acknowledged the above and foregoing Manumission to be his act and Deed and desired it might be recorded as Such. Given under my hand and Seal the day and year aforesaid. Jacob Furbee
