Manumission negro Philip From Charles Draper

Know all men by these presents that I Charles Draper of the village of Milford Kent County and state of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moveing do hereby Manumit enfranchize and Absolutely set free my Negro boy named Philip aged thirteen years six months and six days to be free and at his full and perfect liberty on the tenth day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty six at which time he will be twenty eight years old. And I do hereby warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of the said Negro boy Philip from myself my heirs executors and administrators and from all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under me after the expiration of the said term. I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hands and seal this sixteenth day of July Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and eleven – 1811. Charles Draper {seal}
