Know all men by these presents that Samuel Coombe of Kent County in the State of Delaware doth hereby manumit, Emancipate, liberate and Set free a Certain Negro man named Peter the Slave of me the said Samuel Coombe after the expiration of Seven Years from the Second day of June last past, reserving to myself my heirs Executors administrator and assigns the Service and labour of the said Negro Peter for the full term of Seven Years from the said Second day of June last past, and at the Experation of the Seven Years from the said Second day of June last past I hereby declare the said Negro Peter Shall be a free man to all intents and purposes – provided Nevertheless that if the said Negro Peter shall abscond from the Service of me or my heirs Executors or admrs. or assigns or Shall be Guilty of any misdemenor so that myself ^or my heirs Executors or administrators or assigns shall be put to any trouble or Expence that the said Negro Peter Shall pay for the said lost time and the said trouble and expence, after the expiration of the said Seven years from the Second day of June last by Servitude In  Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal the twenty Eighth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and four. Sealed and delivered in the presence of Joseph Chairs, Nathaniel Smithers

Kent County State of Delaware} I hereby Certify that on the day of the date of the above manumission the above named Samuel Coombe personally appeared before me Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace for the said County, and did legally Execute and acknowledge the above manumission as His act and deed for the uses and purposed therein mentioned, In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal.
