Manumission Negro Oratio from Benaiah Fleming
Know all men by these presents that I Benaiah Fleming of Kent County in the State of Delaware, for divers good causes and In considerations to me hereunto moveing do hereby Manuimate Infranchise and absolutely set free a certain negro man named Oratio Fleming aged thirty four years, about five feet three Inches high and of a Dark Complecktion, to be free the twenty fifth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and six. I the afsd. Benaiah Fleming do hereby Declare and Acknowledge the above named Negro man to be fully discharged from me my heirs Executors Administrators and every of them and every other person or persons claiming by from or under me, In testemony whereof I do hereby set my hand and affix my seal this first day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and six. State of Delaware Kent County} Be it remembered that Beniah Fleming a residentor of Kent County afsd. Personally appeared before me James Millechop one of the Justices of the peace in and for the afsd. County. And Acknowledged the within Manumission to be his act and deed, in due form of law.
