Be it Known and remembered that I Benjamin Cheffins of Kent County and State of Delaware do by these presents set free a certain Negro Man named Joseph Dawset from and after the first day of January next to enjoy all the rights and priveledges of a free negro without hinderance, lett or mollestation from me my heirs Executors or Administrators in Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this 26th day of November 1805. State of Delaware Kent County Sst } I do certify that on the twenty sixth day of November one thousand eight hundred and five appeared Benjamin Cheffins before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace for said County and acknowledged the above Manumission to be his act and Deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned.
