Manumission Negro Joseph & others from John Jump
I John Jump do set free from Bondage the following Negroes namely Joseph, Samuel, Pomp, Perry and Betty, their to commence agreeable to the following order of time viz Joseph his freedom to commence on the first day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twelve, Samuel his freedom to commence on the first day of January Eighteen hundred & seventeen, Pomp his freedom to commence on the first day of January Eighteen hundred & nineteen Perry his freedom to commence on the first day of January Eighteen hundred & Nineteen Betty her freedom to commence on the first day of January Eighteen hundred & nineteen. and I do for myself and my Heirs Releas unto them and each of them according to the within limitation all my right title Interest property & claim as to their or either of their persons or their or either of their posterity forever, except those that may be born of the above named Betty before her freedom commences and all such their freedom to commence when they arive at the age of twenty one years, hereby declaring them the said Joseph Samuel Pomp Perry & Betty absolutely and unconditionably free without any Interuption from me or my heirs or from any person or persons claiming from by or under me or my heirs according to the true intent & meaning of the within Deed of Release; In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of November Eighteen hundred & seven. Kent County to wit Be it remembered that on the _____ day of ____ Eighteen hundred & seven came before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid the within Named John Jump party to the within Deed of Release and did Acknowledge the same to be his act & deed and did acknowledge and declare the within named Joseph Samuel Pomp Perry & Betty to be free according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed of Releas & according to the form & effect thereof in Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand the day and year above written.
