Manumission Negro Man Ceasor Brinkley from Benjamin Brady

Know all Men by these presents that I Benjamin Brady of the Village of Camden in Kent County and State of Delaware think it wrong and oppressive to hold negroes in abject slavery do hereby manumit and set free my negro man called Ceasor Brinkley which I bought of the Admn. of Jonathan Wallace deceased after the Expiration of four years from the first day of January next ensuing the date hereof and the freedom of the aforesaid Ceasor from me my heirs executors and admn. or any other person or persons claiming by through or under them I do hereby warrant and forever defend by these presents. Given under my hand and seal the thirty first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four 1804 Benj Brady {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Ss } I hereby Certify that on the 15th day of Sept. 1806 personally came Benj Brady before me the Subscriber and did acknowledge the pithing Manumission and deliver the same as his act and deed for the use and purposes therein mentioned. Before me Matthew Coxe
