Negro Jacob Manumission from George Cummins
To all persons to whom these presents shall come know ye that I George Cummins of Duck Creek Hundred in the County of Kent and State of Delaware have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit and set free Jacob Sanders Negro, being the same Jacob that I bought at Sheriff Sale as the property of Joseph Latcham aged thirty three years 21 day of December in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen 1814. State of Delaware Kent County SS On the twenty first day of December in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and fourteen personally appeared before Me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County George Cummins and acknowledged the above Manumission to be his Act and Deed for the Purposes therein mentioned James Sorden
