Manumission Negro Jacob from Nathan Coombe

State of Delaware Kent County}  Be it Remembered that I Nathaniel Coombe of Murderkill Hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes to me Known have and by these presents do manumit liberate and set free a certain Negro boy the slave of me the said Nathaniel Coombe by the name of Jacob, reserving to my-self my heirs Executors or Administrators or Assigns the service and labour of him the said Negro Jacob until the said Negro boy Jacob arrives at the age of Twenty five years, he being  fourteen years old the second day of September next. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eleven. Natl. Coombe {seal}

Kent County State of Delaware } I Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for the County aforesaid hereby certify that the above named Nathaniel Coombe personally appeared before me the said Justice, and did acknowledge the above Instrument of writing as his act and deed, for the use intent and purposes therein mentioned – according to the purport and effect thereof _ In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixth day of June Anno Dom one Thousand eight hundred and eleven –  Nathaniel Smithers
