Manumission Negro Hannah Scott & others from Abraham Pierce Esq
Know all Men by these presents that I Abraham Pierce of the Village of Smyrna for divers good causes me thereunto moving have emancapated and set free the following described Negroe and Mullattoe Slaves at the dates and times herein after respectively mentioned to wit” a Mullatto Boy named Stephen now aged about nineteen years on the eighth day of October which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and ten_ a Negro Woman named Hannah Scott immediately from and after the date of these presents, a Mullatto Girl named Nancy daughter of the said Hannah now aged about Eight years on the eighth day of October which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, a Mullatto girl named Betsy another daughter of the said Hannah aged about six years on the eighth day of October which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty a Mullatto girl named Peggy another daughter of the said Hannah aged about four years on the eighth day of October which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and twenty two, a Mullatto girl named Jamima another daughter of the said Hannah aged about one year and eight months on the seventeenth day of January which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five & a Mulatto boy now an infant aged about one month son of the said Hannah on the eighth day of September which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven_ at which said several and respective dates I do for myself my heirs, Executors and administrators discharge the said Negro and Mulatto Slaves from mine and there claim and service. I do hereby certify that Abraham Pierce esq came before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in & for said County, & acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act & deed, & the signature & seal thereto annexed to be respectively his.
