Manumission Negro Girl Sib from John Graham
Know all men that I John Graham do by these presents discharge and sett free a Negro woman named Sib aged about Thirty Six years and that she shall hence forth bee taken and considered as a free person to all intents and purposes and further I do hereby bind my heirs Executors or administrators in the sum of fifty pounds to do and perform any further act record or acknowledgement that may be necessary by the requisitions of the laws of this State to confirm and establish the freedom of the aforesaid negro Sib according to the true intent and purpose of this instrument of manumission as Witness my hand and and seal this third day of February 1804. Kent County & State of Delaware } Before me the subscriber being one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the county affsd. Personally appeared the above named John Graham and did acknowledge the above manumission to be his act and deed and the affsd. Negro Sib to be free and at her own liberty at the expiration of the affsd. Mentioned time as Witness my hand and seal this third day of February 1804. Major Anderson {seal}
