Manumission Negro George from Catherine Bishop

Know all men by these presents that I Catherine Bishop of Kent County in the State of Delaware for divers good causes have ad by these presents do manumit and set free my negro Man George reserving to my self my heirs & assigns the benefit of his service for the term of three year from the day of the date of these presents, and thereafter I do hereby discharge & entirely set free the said negro George from me my heirs Executors, administrators & assigns_ In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirty first day of March in  the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight.

State of Delaware Kent County Ss } I do certify that Catharine Bishop appeared before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace for said County and acknowledged the above manumition to be her act and Deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned Given under my hand and seal the thirty first of March 1808.
