Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Lewes of the county of Kent and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving, do hereby enfranchise and set free my negro man named Eneails he being thirty five years of age, & he the said negro to be free and at his own liberty at the expiration of ___ from and after the date hereof. and further I do hereby warrant, and forever defend the freedom of him the affsd. Negro, agreeable to the true meaning of these presents from the lawfull claim of every person or persons whatsoever, claiming or to claim, him the affsd. Negro Eneails, by from or under me my heirs executors administrators, and every of them. as witness my hand and Seal, this 9 day of January A.D. Stephen Lewis {seal}

Before me the Subscriber being one of the Justices of the peace in & State of Delaware & for the county affsd. personally appeared the above named Stephen Lewis and did acknowledge the above manumission to be his act and deed, and the affsd.
