Manumission Negro David & others From Rachel Laws

Know all men by these presents that I Rachel Laws of Kent County and State of Delaware have this day manumitted and set free the following named negroe men – first David aged thirty four years last may past _ he has had his liberty for four years but never regularly manumitted before now_ second, named Dover aged thirty years last may_ third named Stephen, aged twenty two years last march the above named negro men I acknowledge to be free from me and my heirs an all manner of persons whatsoever and are intitled to all the rights and previledges of free Black men agreeable to the Laws of this state. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of October eighteen hundred & eleven 1811.

State of Delaware Kent County }  I do hereby certify that the above signed Rachel Laws personally appeared before me Thomas Price one of the justices of the peace in and for said County and did acknowledge the above manumission to be her act and deed_ according to the true purport and intent thereof_ In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 5th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve T Price
