Manumission Negro David from Mary Beswick
Know all men by these presents that I Mary Beswick widow of Vincent Beswick decd. of Kent County and State of Delaware, for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving, do hereby manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain negro Boy named David aged about Eleven years the first day of November last past born the property of Robert Minors decd. late of the county & State afsd. out of whose Estate I became possessd. of the afsd. negro David. to be free and at his own liberty at the full end and expiration of Eleven years from the first day of November last past, which will be in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & sixteen. And I the aforesaid Mary Mary Beswick do hereby declare & and acknowledge the above named David to be fully Discharged from me my heirs Exrs. Admrs. And every of them from the time afsd. And do hereby Warrant & defend the liberty & freedom of the before named negro David from all claims (lawful) of me my heirs executors administrators and every other person or persons lawfully claiming to claim by from or under me. In Testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand & seal this tenth day of December Anno Domini 1805. Mary Beswick {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County} I do hereby certify that Mary Beswick of the county afsd. Mistress of the negro boy David named in the within manumission personally appeared before me James Millechop one of the Justices of the peace in & for the said county, and acknowledged the same to be her act and Deed in due form of law. Given under my hand and seal this 10th day of December 1805. Jas. Millechop.
