Manumission Negro Daniel From Caleb Barratt
Know all men by these presents that I Caleb Barratt of Kent County in the State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me hereto moving, hath manumitted emancipated liberated and set free, and by these present doth manumit liberate and set free a certain negro male Slave named Daniel, and I do hereby declare the said Negro Daniel a free man, and shall from and after the date hereof be intitled to all the rights and priviledges that a free Negro or Mullatto may or an enjoy in the State of Delaware. In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & affixed my seal the eight day of Feby in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred And eight. Caleb Barratt {seal}
Sealed & delivered in presence of us: Benjamin Smith Andw. Barratt
Kent County State of Delaware } Be it remembered that on the eighth day of Feby 1808 came before me Andw. Barratt one of the Judges of the court of common pleas of the State of Delaware afsd. the above named Caleb Barratt and acknowledged the above writen Indenture to be his act & deed and desired that the same may be recorded as such In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand the day and year above written. Andw. Barratt
