Be is remembered, that I Saml. Brumby of the county of Kent and State of Delaware, being Possessed of a Negro boy named Ceasar, aged about Thirteen years last January, and being convinced of the impropriety and injustice of unconditional Slavery, do hereby manumit and Set absolutely free Said Negro boy Ceasar, when he arives at the age of twenty Seven years, which will be on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and nineteen, So that the said Ceasar may from that time thence forward be to all intents and purposes a free man, from me my heirs Exers. admrs, and further I do hereby covenant and defend the said Ceasar in the enjoyment of the Same, free clear & undisturbed, after that date, from me and all claiming by from or under me.
