Manumission Negro Betty from Thomas Bradford Junr.

Know all men by these presents, that I Thomas Bradford Junior of the City of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, now in the Town of Dover, County of Kent, and State of Delaware, have from motives of humanity, manumitted and hereby do manumit and set free from slavery, my negro woman Betty or Bet, formerly one of the slaves of Vincent Loockerman Senr. Of the said County of Kent, aged thirty three years being a healthy and able bodied woman, and I do hereby give grant and release unto the said Betty or Bet all my right title and claim of in and to her person, labour and Service & of in and to the Estate and property which she may hereafter acquire. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six A.D. 1806.

State of Delaware Kent County sst} I do certify that on the twelfth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and six, appeared Thomas Bradford Esquire before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace for said County, and acknowledged the within manumition to be his act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned.
