Manumission Negro Benjamin from Hillery Coudright
Know all me by these presents that I Hilery Coudright of Kent County and the State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving doe hereby enfranchise and set free My negro man Benjamin he being about twenty eight years of age and he the said Negro to be free and at his liberty at my death and further I I do hereby and ever defend the aforesaid Benjamin agreeable to the full meaning of these Presents from the lawful flame of every person or persons whatsoever Claiming or to claim him the aforesaid Benjamin Negro by from or under me my heirs executors administrators and every of Them as witness my had and seal this twenty sixth day of February eighteen hundred and thirteen

Kent County State of Delaware SSt} Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for Kent County personally appeared Hillery Coudright and acknowledged the above manumission to be his act and deed and the aforesaid Benjamin to be free and at his own liberty at the expiration of the aforesaid time as witness my hand and seal the twenty seventy day of February 1813.
