Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Brown of St. Jones’s hundred Kent County and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations, do by these presents manumit, liberated and set free a certain Negro Girl, named Belender, aged about thirteen years and I do hereby further agree that the said negro Girl Belender from the third day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty two shall be entitled to and enjoy all the rights, privileges and immunities, which a free negro or mulatto may or can have or enjoy by the Laws of this State. In Testamoney whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. 1810.
